BY PURCHASING A REQUIRED MEAL PLAN YOU AGREE TO ACCEPT ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE MEAL PLAN AGREEMENT AS OUTLINED BELOW.

Required meal plans are for the full academic year (both fall and spring semesters). If you live in Ball Hall, North Hall, or University Tower, you are required to have a meal plan for both semesters. - Elective meal plans are effective and binding for the semester for which it was purchased.
- The terms and conditions begin on the date of purchase for elective plan holders and the date of assignment for required plan holders.

Elective Block Meal Swipes will expire at the end of dinner service at Tower Dining on the final day of spring semester final exams. Dining Dollars will expire at the close of business the day following the last day of spring semester final exams.
Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars for Spring Semester Elective Meal Plans (All Access 7-Day, All Access 5-Day, and 14 Per Week Meal Plan) are available for use starting the Sunday after Spring Semester move-in. - There are 228 days of meal service (board days) at Tower Dining in the regular academic year (116 in fall and 112 in spring).
Tower Dining is closed during Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break. Students staying on campus during these times must plan accordingly as the meal plan does not include meals during these breaks.
- A Meal Swipe is an entry into the Tower Dining. One Meal Swipe allows you one entry.
- Meal Swipes can be used in one of three ways: 1) for a dine in meal at Tower Dining, 2) as a Swipe Swap meal for carry out from Tower dining, or 3) as a Swipe Swap meal for Tower's Den by Denny's.
- Meal Swipes are for the Plan Holder’s use only and are not transferable. Meal Swipes cannot be used for guests; only Bonus Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars may be used for guest meals.
- The All Access 7 Day plan has no restrictions on the number of times the carrier can dine-in at Tower Dining per day or per week Sunday through Saturday. Swipe Swaps are restricted to two times per day. Unused Meal Swipes and Swipe Swaps do not carry over from day to day or week to week.
The All Access 5-Day plan allows unlimited dine-in access at Tower Dining from Monday through Friday. Swipe Swaps are limited to two per day and may only be used Monday through Friday. Unused Meal Swipes and Swipe Swaps do not carry over from day to day or week to week.
- The 14 Per Week meal plan allows the carrier to dine-in at Tower Dining up to 14 times per week. Swipe Swaps are restricted to two times per day. Unused Meal Swipes and Swipe Swaps do not carry over from day to day or week to week.
Elective Block Plans allow the plan holder to dine in at Tower Dining up to the total number of Meal Swipes included with the plan. For example, the Block 10 Meal Plan provides 10 Meal Swipes to be used for dine-in at Tower Dining during the semester. Swipe Swaps are limited to two per day. Unused Meal Swipes carry over from the fall semester to the spring semester but do not carry over beyond the end of the spring semester; any unused Meal Swipes remaining after the spring semester will be forfeited.
Each Dining Dollar includes a 5% meal plan discount and exemption from sales tax at participating campus dining locations.
Dining Dollars can be used at any IU Chartwells serviced dining location, including Tower Dining in University Tower. For a list of locations, visit www.dineoncampus.com/iuindy and click on “Menus & Locations.”

- All required meal plan charges will be placed on your student bursar account.
You agree to pay all meal plan charges. Make payments online through your One.IU account by selecting the View/Pay Bursar Bill tile. Make checks payable to Indiana University. Payments apply to the oldest balance first, so keep your Bursar account current at all times.
- Your meal plan charges are billed in full on a per semester basis. You will receive your bill directly from the Bursar’s Office and you are responsible for making timely payments according to the Bursar due dates with your meal plan charges paid in full prior to the mid-term exam period. Failure to pay in accordance with Bursar due dates may result in penalties and/or actions as defined by the Bursar and may include deactivation of the meal plan at the discretion of the university. Bursar information is available online at Office of the Bursar
- Payment of Meal Plan charges (including applicable buyout fees) is not contingent upon receipt of financial aid monies or scholarships. You agree that you are responsible for all Meal Plan payments and charges not covered by financial aid assistance or scholarships.
- IU Indianapolis and Purdue in Indianapolis students that have a signed housing contract for Ball Residence Hall, North Hall or University Tower will be assigned the All Access 7 Day Meal Plan for the full academic year.

- Students living in Ball Hall, North Hall, or University Tower are automatically assigned the All Access 7-Day Plan when they confirm a housing contract. This plan can be changed to the All Access 5-Day Plan or, for sophomores and above, the 14-Per-Week Plan. Changes are allowed until 11:59 p.m. on the second Friday of each semester. Switch your plan online through the meal plan website.
- Elective meal plan students can switch a meal plan during the first two weeks of the semester by canceling one plan and purchasing a new plan. Any usage from the canceled plan will be charged to the bursar account; usage cannot be deducted from the new plan.
Required meal plan cancellations follow the Housing and Residence Life cancellation policy but may not always align exactly. A required meal plan can only be canceled if you are released from your housing contract.
You are responsible for meal plan charges up to the date of your official cancellation or the last day you use the meal plan, whichever is later.
- No adjustment or proration of meal plan charges will be made for move outs on or after the final four weeks of a semester.
